Marina F is a Queens-based musician, producer, freelance audio and mixing engineer, and DJ.

She has been writing and recording music all her life and working recording, mixing, and mastering musicians in a freelance for over 10 years. Coming from a background in punk, she specializes in unorthodox music, ranging from left field synthpop to noisy hardcore, with an ear for 1980s production techniques and technology.

Mixing and mastering rates start at 30 an hour with a sliding scale for queer musicians and traditionally underrepresented musicians.

PROCESS & POLICIES

  • I ask for a 50 dollar deposit per song before starting work. This deposit will be added to your invoice and be subtracted from the overall bill.

  • Payment for each track will be upon final mix, payment for masters will be upon final master. For extended mixing projects that take place over the course of multiple months, or more than 10 rounds of revisions, I may request partial payment to the best of your ability.

  • Work days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so earliest revisions send on any day can be at earliest expected at the end of the next full work day. Revision notes sent on Tuesday, for example, will be completed by the end of the day Wednesday, notes sent on Friday morning will be done Monday.

  • I will always give a good faith estimate of time needed to complete each song in a given project. This overall time will depend on revisions, changes, and additional requests. If needed, I will also give an estimate for the length of each work segment so you can estimate how much you’ll pay for each revision as we go.

  • If you have a budget cap, I will do my best to work within it to use our time effectively- if so, please let me know upfront. I will let you know how many hours of work fit into that budget, and allocate them effectively.

  • If you would rather pay per song, I will ask for full project details and provide a quote per song, along with how many revisions are included. I will ask for a deposit of 50% of each song’s quote.

  • I strive for hyper-transparency in pricing, if there is something you are curious or unsure about, I am always happy to answer any questions you have.
